


Candidate Eligibility Criteria: Candidates nominated to run for office are expected to have been actively involved in, and a member of the Society for at least three consecutive years. Have educational and experiential background in transcultural nursing, and to be committed to the purposes of the Corporation. In addition, the President, President-Elect, and First and Second Vice-Presidents are expected to be recognized leaders in the field of transcultural nursing. Candidates may not serve on two Boards, or Chair a committee and serve on a board within the society at the same time. Eligibility to serve on the Board of Trustees and the Nominations Committee will be confirmed through the Transcultural Nursing Society Central Office prior to candidate information being reviewed by the nominations committee. Confirmation will ensure that all eligibility criteria have been met prior to the ballot being finalized. Candidates interested in running for office must supply a short CV and statement of intent that will be presented to the Nominations Committee and, if confirmed by the Nominations Committee as eligible to run for office, this information will be sent out to the membership for a vote in July 2012. Prior consent of all nominees will be obtained before nominations are made for the Board or Nominations Committee. If interested in running for any of the positions below please email the required information listed above, along with the position you are interested in running for, to Lisa Dobson: ldobson@tcns.org Positions Open for Election in 2012: Member-At-Large (2 yr. term: 2013-2015) Member-at-Large shall coordinate Chapters and Regional Liaisons to promote good working relationships, and membership. Duties include assisting with chapter formation, calling an annual meeting of Chapter Representatives and Regional Liaisons, and represent Chapters' activities to the Board of Trustees. The Member-at-Large chairs the membership Committee an By-Law Committee as needed. Nominations Committee (1 Open Position): 2 Year Term (2013-2015) One members will be elected to the nominations committee and serve a two-year term. The elected member will become Chair of the Committee for the period of elections in 2014. Only members in good standing as described shall be on the Nominations Committee. |
