Transcultural Nursing: Addressing Healthcare Needs in a Global Society

Objectives:
1. Explore healthcare challenges from a transcultural nursing perspective in education, practice, administration, and research.
2. Analyze culturally congruent care to prepare the next generation of healthcare providers.
3. Address strategies that advance global perspectives to promote transcultural nursing knowledge and practice.

Presenter Information and Downloads

Two (2) forms (one agreement to present - completed by the primary contact and a conflict of interest form for each individual presenting at the conference) must be completed for podium, poster, and panel presentations for the conference CE process.


General Information

Acceptance of a presentation is your agreement to register and pay the appropriate registration fee.  The *conference registration deposit fee of USD 100.00 is required for each presentation, is non-refundable, and must be paid by August 1, 2025.  The remainder of your conference registration fee is due by September 1, 2025.  The deposit is non-refundable. However, the individual who submits the deposit can claim the credit towards their full conference registration.

  • The Conference will be an in-person event held at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland, ME.

    • Each presenter is required to register for the conference on or before September 1, 2025.
    • Online registration is open now. The early bird registration rate is available until August 15, 2025.
  • Oral concurrent sessions are 45 minutes in length, which includes the question-and-answer portion.
  • Poster presentations will be in electronic format.  
  • Each presenter MUST supply TCNS with handouts to be posted to our conference website, which will be available to participants for download after October 20, 2025.
  • All presentations must incorporate the conference theme and objectives. The evaluations will address the objectives you have selected.
  • Required Forms must be submitted to Lisa Dobson at ldobson@tcns.org
  • Please save the COI form with your last name first and then your first name.  Example:  smithpatcoi.doc
  • Conflict of Interest Form must be submitted in the original WORD format and NOT as a PDF (on or before July 15, 2025); electronic signatures are sufficient and binding.

Electronic Poster Format and Resources

  • No hard copy of your poster will need to be brought to the conference.
  • All poster presentations will be in electronic PowerPoint format and posted to our secure conference website. In addition, each poster presenter will have a breakfast table discussion in person on one day of the conference (Thursday, Friday, or Saturday). Poster presenters will submit one PowerPoint slide to post online in the electronic poster board sessions. Your poster will appear on our conference portal online for viewing before, during, and after the conference.
    • Formatting for best viewing.
      • Your poster should be composed in a 16/9 ratio (widescreen) using PowerPoint
      • Your poster should consist of one PowerPoint slide only.
      • Font size can vary, but 30-40 pt works well.
      • Do not crowd your information; be sure it is clear, precise, and readable.
      • Email your PowerPoint slide no later than OCTOBER 15 to ldobsontcns.org.
      • We will post it to our electronic poster site on our conference participant portal.
      • You must provide an email address for any questions that participants may have regarding your poster.
      • Each poster presenter at the conference will be assigned a breakfast table on one day of the conference to discuss their poster.  There will be two posters represented at each table at breakfast.   Your poster will be loaded on the large screen for viewing during breakfast. You will be notified as soon as your poster session has been scheduled for Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. The poster will be available to all participants online throughout the conference website.   You must provide an email address where participants may contact you for questions.

Panel Presentations

    • Panel Presentations will take place during the second session on Saturday, November 1st, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.
    • Panel presentations are forty-five minutes long. The panel should allow for a few minutes at the end of the session for questions and answers.
    • Three abstracts will be represented on each panel, and each abstract will have approximately twelve (12) minutes to present.
    • A moderator will assist with timing and contact each panel before the conference to organize the order of presentations.

Presenter Forms/Instructions (Podium, Poster, and Panel)

  ONE FORM should be completed for each presentation, covering all presenters.   

Form 1 - To be Completed by all Podium/Poster/Panel Primary Presentation Contacts -Presentation Terms/Agreement to Present

        • The primary presenter/contact person attending the conference must complete ONE agreement to present for all presenters. The form may be downloaded in Word format on this page.  You must include on that form the final version of your abstract for publication in the Book of Abstracts. This agreement will apply to all individuals listed as presenters for this event.  The form MUST be submitted to Lisa Dobson in the original WORD format; no PDFs will be accepted.

        • You will not be included on the program unless we receive your completed forms by the due date. Your electronic signature is sufficient and binding. The deadline for submitting the agreement is July 15, 2025. All presenters must pay a $100.00, non-refundable deposit.  The individual paying the non-refundable deposit will have that amount credited toward their full conference registration.  The deposit must be paid to appear on the program. The deposit may be paid after submission of the acceptance documents, but no later than August 1, 2025.
        • Please fill out the presenter agreement form in its entirety before submission.
        • Please provide a complete list of presenters with names, credentials, organizational affiliations, city, state, and country as you wish them to appear in our conference materials. The organization's name may include the city, state, and country. We will not include any additional information for your organization.  EXAMPLE:  Pat Anderson, RN, FTNSS, FAAN, The University of Patterson,  San Jose, NM, Italy
          • Please list the individuals who will be present at the conference and present the session content. Only these individuals will be listed in the brochure as the presenter(s) and on the conference evaluations.
          • Please list co-author(s) not presenting under the author section for the final abstract. They will be included as authors of the abstract in the Book of Abstracts.
          • Please provide a complete title for your presentation.
          • Please provide a completed abstract in its FINAL version and submit it in WORD format on the form provided. 
            • Abstracts will be included in the Book of Abstracts and will appear exactly as submitted.
            • You are responsible for proofreading your submission, including spelling, grammar, and format.
            • The abstract MUST be no more than 500 words, and no references or diagrams should be included. Title and author information are not counted as part of the 500-word limit.
            • Corrections to this information will not be accepted after August 15, 2025.
          • All presentations must incorporate the conference theme and objectives.
          • The evaluations will address the objectives you have selected in your presentation agreement. Only the presenters of the information will be listed on the evaluations.
          • The deadline for submission of the presentation form is JULY 15, 2025

*Form 2 Podium/Poster/Panel - Conflict of Interest Form

All Presenters attending the conference and presenting content must complete a conflict of interest form.

    • Follow instructions listed. Please read the conflict of interest form completely before filling out.
    • The title of your presentation should be included on the first line after the conference theme.
    • You are considered a faculty/presenter/author for this activity.
    • Complete SECTION 1: Demographic Data by entering your name, credentials/degrees, address, phone, email address, current employer, and position/job title and email address.
    • Complete SECTION 2: Conflict of Interest by providing any information requested.
    • Complete SECTION 3: Statement of Understanding by typing or electronic signature and date.  
    • DO NOT COMPLETE SECTION 4: Conflict Resolution 
    • Deadline for submitting the conflict of interest forms is  JULY 15, 2025
    • You must submit one completed disclosure form for each presenter who will be attending and presenting at the conference in-person in PORTLAND, ME.

  • *Presenters who have previously registered for the conference do not need to submit the deposit.  The deposit and credit of 100.00 USD of your conference registration will be non-refundable.  Presenter deposits are only credited to the individual who submitted the deposit payment, and the credit is valid only toward the full conference registration fee for the 51st Transcultural Nursing Society Conference.  The deposit is non-refundable.   All refund policies apply to presenter registrations, except for the non-refundable presentation deposit.
